The one question that comes up on a regular basis from clients is “What should we wear?”
Here is what I tell the women. Choose clothing that compliments your personality and makes you feel the prettiest you can be. If you don’t like what you’re wearing it will show in your pictures. Try to stay away from ‘now’ trends, because in 10, 20 years you don’t want to look at your picture and say “What was I thinking.”
For everyone, choose solid colors if possible. Patterned prints look busy in photos and draw attention away from your face, so choosing solid colors are often best. Everyone who will be in the photographs should wear clothes that are the same level of “dressyness.”The best way to describe it is to dress up a notch or two more than you normally would, but pick outfits that are YOU.
For men, just make sure your shirt coordinates with what others who are going to be included in the photo will be wearing. You don’t have to be in matching colors, but they do need to coordinate. While this gentlemen seems to break the rules with his plaid sweater it’s clear that he’s comfortable. He’s a “well dressed man” and he knows it. The wardrobe reveals a bit about the man.
And lastly, remember to just relax and have fun!
