Korina has chosen her favorite photos for the wedding album. We’re looking forward to putting together a custom design that captures the love and fun that was evident throughout the evening.
In the meantime, we put together a 4-minute video/slideshow. As you will see from the video, the heat from the sunny ceremony was carried over resulting in a free spirited and exciting reception.
Take a peek at the video. Be sure to enable the full screen (Stretch On) option – bottom right of the window.
The video will be available for purchase through the month of October. Feel free to leave a comment that describes your favorite moment(s) from an eventful day. We hope you enjoy the video … you may even remember a few of the “events”. Feel free to share the link with your friends – if you dare.
Rebecca and I truly enjoy photographing weddings. The energy level is always pumped sky high and the love & emotions are infectious. We recently had the honor and privilege of photographing the wedding of Rebecca’s niece, Korina. So, mix the usual fun & emotion and add family & friends and you have one very special event.
Korina is a beutiful young lady and a gorgeous bride. We had gotten to know her new husband, Nick, over the past two years. He’s a “stand up” guy with rock-solid character traits. Together they are a couple that will relish all that life has to offer.
Here’s a photo of Nick with his father and brother-in-law “chilling” before the ceremony. In a group photo below you’ll see his brother-in-law in his military uniform. He’s a proud member of the US Army and we thank him, and all US servicemen, for their service to the country.
Both Korina & Nick have more family & friends than you can shake a stick at so naturally they had a large wedding party – 24 total bridesmaids and groomsmen. As is clear from the photos these folks know how to kick up an attitude.
Korina was shining her beauty for all to see as shown in this photo with her parents. The beautiful lady is Rebecca’s sister, Angela and the smiling father (Luis) is one very talented musician, as will be evidenced in the reception photos. These two photos are a testament to the exceptional hair & makeup work done by Michelle Roach Moore. In the second photo Korina is flanked by her sister Riana on her left and her maid of honor on her right. Speaking of exceptional work – have you ever seen a more beautiful bouquet. Kudos to Melissa Meier for those.
Here we have a few nervous folks waiting for the processional. Dad is ready to take his daughter down the aisle. However, the flower girl isn’t quite sure she wants to leave the comfort of the shade.
It was one very warm day at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. But that didn’t detract from the beautiful setting. As I told Angela, the outdoor umbrellas that she arranged for (the day before) added to the wonderful ambience. This is a very beautiful garden area – a gorgeous setting for a wedding.
Here we have the newlyweds with both sets of parents including Nick’s proud father Dennis and smiling mother Kathy. We were able to take this final outdoor photo of the newlyweds before everyone retreated from the heat.
Remember we talked about the size of the bridal party. Well, that didn’t deter Rebecca from arranging one great pose. And yes, that is our grandson front and center. Benjamin did a terrific job standing up as the ring bearer in the heat during the entire ceremony. The good-looking pre-teen to Benjamin’s left is Korina’s younger brother, Zach.
Before we headed to the reception I challenged Kor & Nick to strike a pose with attitude. I would have to say they nailed it.
The reception was held in the East Room – a replica of it’s namesake at the White House. Check out the lighting set up provided by Renowned Events. After setting up the lights Michael served as DJ and emcee. He had the room rockin’ in no time at all.
That’s not to say there weren’t a few unplanned moments. Witness bridesmaid Riana on her entrance. It wasn’t long before she was back on her feet dancing with the entire wedding party. And yes, that is 7 year old Benjamin, our grandson, having the time of his (young) life.
The first dance gave us a chance to photograph the young couple at a moment in their lives that will never be forgotten.
So, did I mention how crazy this wedding party got. Here’s Luis leading a live band. The drummer just happens to be Korina’s brother (the first Nick in her life) & self-acclaimed best friend. And Nick wasn’t the only brother in the band. Zach is a child prodigy on drums and was rockin the house along with his father and brother. This is one crazy-talented musical family. As they say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Leave it to Nick to set the bar high for wild fun. Rebecca and I have photographed plenty of weddings but none were more enjoyable than this – especially given the love in both families.
Rebecca and I had the honor of photographing Alma & Rudy’s wedding. We didn’t have a chance to work together during an Engagement Session so we took them to dinner at Alma’s favorite, small, Mexican Cantina to discuss their plans & preferences. That time together helped us understand how they wanted us to capture their day’s memories.
When you mix a beautiful woman (with years of experience doing make-up for Hollywood stars) together with a phenomenal dress you end up with Alma, a stunning bride. While she was preparing to stun Rudy his guys were busy doing …. well, I’m not sure they know what they were doing.
The ladies; however, are clearly organized & pumped. Alma and her step-daughter – what a beautiful pair of ladies. Rudy is one blessed man.
The wedding was held outdoors. Despite the full sun, guests were comfortable under the canopy. The decorations were just beautiful as were the couple and the entire wedding party.
Rudy and Alma exchanged vows and enjoyed their first kiss as man & wife. Their smiles speak volumes for the love they share.
We took a few family photos before we left for a photo session at a local vineyard. This photo, complete with lens flare, is amongst the favorites.
Alma took care of Rudy while we rode to the vineyard in the courtesy van. It was a longer ride than we anticipated - directions were misunderstood – we had plenty of reason to celebrate once there.
We found time to take several photos of the wedding party. The delays limited the time Rebecca and I could use to photograph Alma & Rudy so we agreed to an after-the-honeymoon photo shoot. Alma loves the San Juan Capistrano area so we’ll take a day off and create some beautiful photos for them there. Stay tuned for those – we can’t miss with such a good looking couple.
Once back at the reception there was still plenty of action and fun to capture including a genuine Mariachi band – Alma’s gift to her mother.
Rudy and Alma worked each other over – it’s clear Alma’s routine had Rudy hot under the collar. But Rudy wasn’t fazed – he clearly did well with the dollar dances.
Rudy & Alma took time out to thank the guys from Renowned Events. They emceed the event and supplied a great mix of dance music to keep things hopping thru the night. Rebecca and I have worked with them before and can attest to their professionalism & fun attitude.
